Well, I have just experienced such a thing. I have had this friend since high school. We have been through a lot together. She has traveled with me to many places and has stuck by me through it all. This friend was there for me for my first date, my graduation, my wedding, and the birth of my first baby.
Some people did not fully appreciate our relationship and they wondered why I had this friend to begin with. Some did not understand how we had lasted so long together. Some people even made fun of me because I liked her, but I didn't care.
I am sad to see our relationship come to an end, but it is time....She has served me well and I will never forget her! Although no friend could ever truly take her place, I did find someone with a lot of the same qualities who will hopefully come close to measuring up. Goodbye old friend!!!

That's hilarious! I have things like that that are around because it never occurs to me how long I've had them, or that I could probably find something more useful or practical or just plain nicer looking. Sorry for your loss....I'm sure you'll find another just as loyal.
I found a cute lime green one that will do just fine. My friends mocked me forever because we would go to women's conference together and I would take along my hot pink and purple caboodle from 1980! I just loved it cause it had all those compartments and places to put things. They don't make 'em like that anymore!
I started lauging outloud when the picture came into view. I wish I still had my caboodle for all the girls hair stuff(it was mint green). Are you sure you want to part with such a good friend???
I remember that caboodle! You could probably get some cash out of it on ebay, cause I'll bet it's practically an antique. Or at least someone would want it just for all the memories it evokes! Hope your new one is just as loyal a friend.

Oh my goodness! I am in shock! I hope it wasn't my busting out in laughter when you came to stay with me last time and I saw you carry that into the house:) Good job for letting it go, I know it couldn't have been easy. You need to post what you are using now. I am curious to see!!
I must admit, I haven't totally parted with it yet. I am just not using it anymore. I put it up on my top shelf in my closet because I kind of feel like it is an heirloom or antique or something. I could probably get some big cash for it on ebay or use it with a costume if I ever dress up like the 80s....I know...it's a little ridiculous...but what can I say. Just so you know, I did not get rid of it because of anyone heckling me...I actually kind of got a thrill from that! I just felt it was time to let it go.
